These are things we wish we knew in the beginning and could have helped us tremendously to grow our business quicker:

🌸 Educate Yourself - This is SO important. Begin by immersing yourself in floral design & business resources. Read books, watch tutorials, and attend workshops to build a solid foundation of knowledge. Find someone you admire in the industry and see if they can mentor you.

🌸 Practice Floral Design Regularly - Strengthen your floral design skills by practising at every chance you get. If you have an event, celebration or party coming up, flowers in the decor! We also recommend watching tutorials to teach you specific floral design techniques that are used in weddings.

🌸 Create a Portfolio - Start compiling a portfolio of your work. Document your floral designs through photographs and video to use in your portfolio. Clients will want to see your art before they commit to hiring you as their wedding florist. Mentorships are also a great way to build a portfolio as you will learn and get photos / content for your website & social media platforms.

🌸 Network in the Industry - Attend local events in your city, bridal shows, and networking gatherings to connect with other vendors in the wedding industry.
